MyPix2Canvas Review

I am always looking for quality printing, and was thrilled when MyPix2Canvas asked if I would be willing to review one of their fine-art giclee prints.

MyPix2Canvas knows that I am passionate about photography, but what they don’t know is that I am kinda a wrapped canvas expert.

Well, I pretend to be. But my husband really is. 🙂

My husband has worked in the fine-art printing business for over fifteen years. He knows everything there is to know about quality printing, giclee printing, and wrapping canvas.  So as you can imagine, when the print arrived, he gave it a very thorough inspection.

But first, here ‘s a look at the print I ordered:

Beautiful!

First of all, I take color very seriously. I use a calibrated monitor, so it is very important to me that any prints I ever order match what I see on my screen. To me the canvas looked perfect, and the saturation and color were pristine. Oftentimes photo prints can appear dull and flat. The MyPix2Canvas print is vibrant, and it is obvious that quality ink was used.

Here’s some of the things my husband noticed:

The corners of the canvas are very clean and well rounded, giving the canvas a very polished look. Also a good quality cotton, or at least a cotton blend, was used for the canvas.

A solid wood was used in the stretchers, and they are as wide as those typically used by fine-art printers.  Those are both wonderful qualities, as they can benefit the life and presentation of your canvas.

My husband also smelled and rubbed the canvas with his wet finger! Right away he knew that MyPix2Canvas had taken the time to add a coating to the print. This is very good news! You want your wrapped canvas protected from moisture and sunlight. You would be surprised how few printers now take this extra step.

Overall, I was incredibly impressed with MyPix2Canvas! Giclee prints and wrapped canvases are so popular right now, it’s nice to find a company who’s price and quality stand up against the competition!

If you want to learn more about  MyPix2Canvas, you can visit their website here. They are currently running a fabulous Mother’s Day special where you can purchase a 16×20 canvas print  for just $29! Just enter MDAY2012 at checkout. To learn more about giclee or canvas printing, go here.

  • I just saw a LivingSocial deal for their canvases and wanted to know if they were worth it. Sounds like it. Thank you for the review!

  • Purchased a canvas from this company and as soon as I uploaded the photo it was darkened by the sofare used on site I did lighten, when I received the painting it was horrible …terrible. I am very surprised that the staff had not contacted me before sending in any way. I wasted Alot of money on this painting of myself aND my brother. I feel as if I was printing this I’d fore warn my clients if the picture was not going to be of good quility. I could had chosen a better photo or even fixed this.I would never run a business and send someone a photo that cannot see. I would hope to try this again. Possibly another company will care that the job is done right.

  • I do like their quality and have been a customer for years. Their customer service is terrible though, actually non-existent. They take their phone off the hook and this Christmas, they sent an email out at 5:01 on 12/23 stating sorry, but they weren’t able to fill all the Orders. They waited until after they closed for the holiday to tell me they weren’t going to send my canvases. I still have no idea if they made them. They don’t reply to emails and 4 days later, you still can’t get through to them. Poor business follow up.

  • BEWARE MyPix / Artful Color. I used them heavily from 2012 to 2015. BUT, something happened this year and something is NOT right. It’s been 3 months since my order and for the last 2 months I get a generic answer by chat only. Their phone message basically says use chat only. No one will call me personally and they refuse to refund money, stating that they’ll only issue a voucher. What good is a voucher if they can’t produce a product? Yet, they continue to blow up my email with “specials?” I filed a complaint today with the North Carolina Attorney General. Owner’s name is readily available via website WhoIs and history.

Also, while they provide a generic response stating, “Our production times do fluctuate throughout the year, as disclosed on our website and explained to the customer,” the TRUTH is they have recently changed their site. It previously stated, “Normal production time is 5-7 business days. During the holiday season and after certain promotions our production time may increase (sometime up to 10-15 business days) due to the large influx of orders.” This can be confirmed through https://archive.org/web/ .
