Western Digital’s My Cloud Home, Aggregates All Your Digital Content In One Central Place

Cloud services are gaining in popularity, and for good reason. It used to be a huge pain to get a new phone or get a new computer and transfer all of your files and data to the new device. You no longer have to store your entire life on a single computer, and that is one reason I love living in the future.

Now you can store all of your files, pictures, videos and music in a cloud service, and have the ability to access them from a mobile device. However, it can make someone nervous having their entire digital life in the hands of another company. If something were to ever happen to that business, what happens to your digital backups?

Western Digital has just released a new personal storage solution that people can get really excited about. The My Cloud Home solution is definitely more than an external hard drive, it is a new way to make sure all of the digital content you have are organized and accessible from wherever you are. It is not meant to work against cloud services like Dropbox and One Drive, it is meant to work with them so you can store that content in your own personal cloud and quickly find exactly what you are looking for, even movies.

This new device is a personal storage solution you keep inside your house. It is connected to your home network and the internet to give you access to your files from anywhere and on any device. It has awesome sharing features, including the ability to add a Plex server.

It’s the organization features that really sets this solution apart from others in the category. My Cloud Home aggregates all of your digital content, even from your cloud services, and stores a copy of the files locally, so you can access them without an internet connection at home if necessary, or on the road from anywhere you have an internet connection. Photos, videos and files from your cloud accounts are automatically downloaded to your My Cloud Home device, including Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, Facebook and many more. You can also have your phone automatically backup any photos taken to the device.

Instead of trying to remember which service you have a particular file stored in, you can find everything you need in one centralized location on the My Cloud Home. It is accessible through a phone app and a web interface to help you search through your files to find the right one. You can also set up desktop syncing to have files on your computer automatically synced with the storage solution.

Another really awesome feature is the ability to set up different sections of the My Cloud Home for each member of the family. You can have each member of your family sync photos from their phones automatically, and give them the ability to share those files with anyone. It truly is a one-stop shop for all of your entire family’s file and photo storage needs.

I have great news for my readers today! You can win one right here! I’m giving away a 3TB My Cloud Home. Simply fill out the form below to be entered to win. Winners will be chosen on October 23rd.
