One of my favorite smart home devices this year has now added a few more products to its lineup–a dimmer switch and smart plugs! Many people didn’t want to replace all of their switches with a full panel smart home controller, especially when they were very close to each other, including me.
I solved this problem by adding several Wemo switches to my home that the Brilliant is able to control. Now Brilliant allows you to stay within their ecosystem by adding dimmer switches and a smart plug!
The dimmer switch can detect motion, allowing you to turn lights on and off based on your movement. You can also just utilize the device to manually adjust the lighting in your home. A single tap on the device will turn your lights on or off, and a double-tap can trigger any scene you have previously created.
The dimmer works just like the standard device, just without the screen for additional functionality.
The dimmer switches and smart plugs are available for pre-order now. It really is a great way to get started with smart home devices, and now it’s even more affordable!
