Goodness, did I have a good time at CES this year!
And I am so excited to share some of the hottest new trends for 2013.
We will be featuring a few of our favorite products soon, but until then here is the Tech4Moms Best in Show!
The digital health section of CES was absolutely booming this year, and it’s no surprise when you look at how many new digital health products are appearing on the market. Though there were many brands and products that looked impressive, Fitbit displayed one of the best wearable fitness trackers around. Don’t be surprised to hear a whole lot more about wearable fitness on Tech4Moms in the near future.
The more technology advances, the more we will be seing products blend together, such as e-readers, digital cameras, and cell phones. Two that really stood out at CES are first, the YotaPhone; and second, the Samsung Galaxy Camera.
The YotaPhone has TWO screens, one on the front, and one on the back. The first designated to be a high resolution LCD Android phone, and the second is an electronic paper display (think e-reader).
I had the opportunity to try our the Samsung Galaxy Camera throughout the show, and I must say the Verizon LTE service put my iPhone to shame. Photographing and then immediately posting to Instagram and Facebook was a breeze. And the 21x super long zoom… YOWZA! This camera is seriously amazing. (Be sure and read Sarah’s full review HERE.)
For once, big screen TV’s were not the big push this year, but Samsung was still rockin’ with the Samsung UN85S9 Ultra HD. This mammoth 85-inch screen had beyond impressive quality, but I’m not convinced a women was consulted when it comes to the design. I promise the artist easel-like look is easy to look past once you see it in action.
The second runner up in the TV catergory, would definitely be the curved LG EA9800. Yes friends, it is curved. This new OLED smart TV is even 3D-capable.
3D TV might be a dying bread, but 3D printing was still a big push at CES. The CubeX 3D may have perfected the technique, but the four thousand dollar price tag puts it far from consumers reach.
Last but not least, I have to share the strangest hot new product at CES… the iPotty!
Ummm… anyone else think that is totally disgusting??? Priced at under $40, this new potty training advocate was definitely an eye turner at CES this year. When I saw it for the first time, my immediate thought was all the grown up children, (aka- adults) whom transport their cell phones into the bathroom. Yes, let’s start encouraging that from a young age. Yuck!
