Love to the Online Gaming World #Poppit

As is known around the block, this house loves gaming.  We have a PS3, we have an Xbox with Kinect, we have a Wii, DS… check, iPod Touch… Check, more computers in the house than people… CHECK.  So ask us a question about gaming, and we can answer it usually.  Online gaming is a bit of a different beast than console gaming (console meaning things like the xbox).  You’ve all seen your Facebook friends playing them, and maybe you’ve even played some yourself.  Here is what I enjoy about online games.

1. Quick and Easy.  They are typically what are called “casual games”, which means you can play for a couple minutes, or way longer, depending on how much time you have to kill.  The great thing about casual games is just that, they are quick games you can pick up at any time and play for as long as you would like.  If I have a few minutes to spare while something is downloading or scanning or installing, it’s easy to just pick up and play.  Also there usually isn’t a big story line you have to follow.

2. Social.  The other great thing about online games is most of them can be played against your friends.  My husband and I LOVE to have game nights at our house.  We can either play a console game or a board game with a bunch of friends and have a great time.  Having young kids though can put quite a damper on game night.  The kids try and get in the action, mess up the board or run in front of the Kinect just when you are about to score some big points with a dance game.  Playing a game like Monopoly online with your friends can give you the same feeling of having a game night at home, anytime and anywhere you want!

3. Access.  The last awesome thing about online gaming is that you can pick up and play wherever you go!  We recently went on vacation and seriously considered toting our xbox over 700 miles to Southern California so all of my family can play together.  Instead, just about all of us brought our laptops along, and we were able to play online against each other from our laptops.  Being able to take your game with you no matter where you go is probably the best benefit of online gaming.

So here’s an online game from pogo.com to help get you into the action now!

Race against the clock and pop as many balloons as you can. To play the Poppit!™ Sprint puzzle game, all you have to do is pop groups of two or more balloons of the same color in one minute. Fast pops of three or more balloons of the same color increase your multiplier and score.
