Sleep Number Shows Off New Climate Controlled Bed

As someone who lives in Utah, it gets really cold. I am not a fan of the cold. I can usually be found on a snowy day huddled up in my house with my robe and some hot chocolate. If it’s snowing, I’m not going. At least according to the shirt my friend just bought me for Christmas.

There’s nothing I love more than snuggling up in my nice warm bed though. My husband, on the other hand, would probably like things a bit cooler on his side of the bed. There have been several products that have tried to resolve this issue, but I think Sleep Number has finally figured it out.

At CES this year, Sleep Number unveiled a brand new climate-controlled bed! Not only can you adjust the firmness individually, but now you can also adjust the temperature. This way each person can have an individually customized sleep experience that allows them to get some much-needed rest.

I was able to check out the bed and feel the heat on one side and the cool mattress on the other. They even go one step further and allow you to customize your feet separately too. So, on the cool side, the foot of the bed where your feet would be was still set to warm.

According to the company, the new bed has a few more features as well.

  • The microclimate comfort options include adjustments on each side to heat and cool the mattress based on a sleeper’s individual comfort preferences. The Climate360 technology provides up to 12 degrees of cooling through an evaporative cooling process and can warm the bed up to a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit through active heating.
  • It is designed to work with your natural sleep cycle for deeper, more restful sleep. It first gently warms either or both sides of the bed, which is proven to aid in falling asleep faster. Then, it actively cools the sleeper’s body several degrees with ambient air, balancing the sleeper’s temperature to keep them asleep longer.
  • It delivers the proven quality sleep that comes standard with a Sleep Number 360® smart bed through effortless adjustability and individualized firmness on each side with SleepIQ technology.
  • It is integrated with Sleep Number’s smart adjustable base, offering both head and foot adjustability for more individualized comfort options.

There are many couples that have started choosing to sleep in separate beds or even separate rooms in order to get a customized rest. Sleep Number might just be saving marriages with their beds. I definitely want to give this one a try.
